Thu 29th Nov 2012 Defeat for Brits in Cámara de Diputados British players suffer defeat this week as the Cámara de Diputados continues THE COPA CÁMARA de Diputados continued this week, but with disappointment for the British players as they lost their second matches. Charlie Hanbury's El Remanso team, which features James Beim as well as Milo Fernández Araujo and Alejandro Agoti, lost against Miramar 12-11 on Tuesday. La Quinta Cuatro Tacos, which features Luke and Mark Tomlinson, playing alongside Mariano Uranga and Joao Paulo Ganon, suffered an equally narrow defeat when they lost to La Esquina 12-11. Both teams are in action today, with La Quinta Cuatro Tacos playing Las Overas and El Remanso facing Cuatro Vientos. The final is scheduled for Sunday 9 December. Photograph: El Remanso's James Beim Wed 28th Nov 2012 Buenos Aires triumphs at Emirates Palace London lose out as Buenos Aires finish the winners of the inaugural Coutts Polo at the Palace this weekend Team London finished fourth at the inaugural Coutts Polo at the Palace, held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. It was Mohammed Al Habtoor's Buenos Aires team who finished as winners, defeating Abu Dhabi 6-5 in the final, which ended in a penalty shoot-out after the teams finsihed on level scores. The London line-up of Stuart Wrigley, Peter Webb and William Emerson failed to reach the final after being beaten by Abu Dhabi in the opening match. They were then narrowly defeated by Milan in the subsidiary final, 9-8. Polo at the Palace was a spin-off from the popular Polo in the Park event, and was played in a similar format, with three players on each team and a smaller polo field. It is part of the City Polo series, which organises polo events in iconic cities around the world. Mon 26th Nov 2012 England team announced for Townsend Cup England will play the US for the Townsend Cup at Empire Polo Club in January THE ENGLAND TEAM for the Townsend Cup arena Test Match has been revealed. Captain Chris Hyde (9) and seven-goalers Oli Hipwood and Max Charlton will face the US at Empire Polo Club in California on Sunday 12 January. Sebastian Dawnay (8) completes the England line-up as substitute. The US team will be captained by arena ten-goaler Tommy Biddle and also includes Kris Kampsen (7) and Rob Yackley (6). The Townsend Cup was last played for by the US and England in 2011, when it was won by the US. The two teams met in 2012, when England beat the US to lift the Bryan Morrison Trophy at Hickstead.
