Mon 12th Nov 2012La Dolfina win Hurlingham Open Adolfo Cambiaso led his La Dolfina team to their fifth Hurlingham Open title yesterday in the final
LA DOLFINA RETAINED their Hurlingham title yesterday when they defeated Ellerstina 18-11. The 40-goal lineup of Adolfo Cambiaso, David “Pelon” Stirling, Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martin Nero showed their class as they led from the first chukka.
The Ellerstina team of Facundo Pieres, Gonzalito Pieres, Nico Pieres and Mariano Aguerre managed to reduce the gap to two goals by halftime but could not catch La Dolfina as the second half got underway.
La Dolfina were ahead by 16-9 going into the final chukka and just a pair of goals from each team secured a decisive win for Cambiaso and co, that served as revenge after their defeat to Ellerstina in the Tortugas final. Pablo MacDonough was named most valuable player.
Both teams will be in action in the Argentine Open, which is due to get underway on Saturday (17 November).
