Tue 9th Apr 2024 2024 English High Goal Teams 22 teams will take part in this season The 2024 English season is nearly upon us and the high goal teams and schedules have been announced.  The 22 goal season will kick off with The Prince of Wales Trophy on Saturday 4 May at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, with the Final scheduled for Saturday 18 May; The Trippetts Challenge (4 – 18 May); followed by The Cartier Queen’s Cup (21 May – 16 June) at Guards Polo Club; moving on to the Warwickshire Cup at Cirencester Park Polo Club (10 – 22 June) and The British Open Polo Championship for The Cowdray Gold Cup (25 June – 21 July); culminating in The Talacrest Prince of Wales's Championship Cup at Guards Polo Club.    There are 22 teams who have all thrown their hats into the ring for this season, with six teams only entered for The Cartier Queen’s Cup and three teams only entered for The British Open Polo Championship for The Cowdray Gold Cup. In a boost for English polo, there are 12 English professionals included in the team line-ups: Jack Richardson, Charlie Hanbury, Hugo Taylor, Louis Hine, Ned Hine, Tommy Severn, Matt Perry, Will Harper, Ollie Cudmore, James Harper, Kian Hall and Tommy Beresford.   Ali Albwardy is poised for a significant return this season, rejoining the field with the Desert Palm Polo Team after an extended absence. Adolfo Cambiaso is set to don the La Dolfina jersey for the first time in the English high goal season, as well as playing alongside his daughter Mia, while is son, Poroto, will line-up for La Dolfina Great Oaks. Tommy Beresford and the UAE team are gearing up to defend their Gold Cup title. Camilo ‘Jeta’ Castagnola and Dubai are gearing up for both The Queen's Cup and a highly anticipated rematch in The Gold Cup. Corinne Ricard and her team, Murus Sanctus, reigning champions of The Queen's Cup, are teaming up with La Dolfina in pursuit of The Gold Cup.
