La Dolfina to play Pilara for place in Hurlingham final

The Hurlingham Open continued this weekend, with La Dolfina, Pilara, La Aguada and La Natividad winning their matches

LA DOLFINA AND Pilara will be the first teams to battle for a place in the Hurlingham final after winning their matches this weekend.

La Dolfina made it two wins out of two when they beat Alegria 18-13. Alegria took an early lead but the 40-goal La Dolfina side took control in the second half to finish with a comfortable lead.

Pilara led from the start against Magual, winning 22-13 with Sebastian Merlos scoring twelve goals.

Ellerstina suffered their first defeat of this year's Triple Crown when they were beaten 12-8 by La Aguada. The scores were level at halftime but the Tortugus Open champions could not hold their own against La Aguada in the second half.

La Natividad defeated La Aguada-Las Monjitas 17-16 after a nerve-racking match. La Aguada-Las Monjitas' strong defence left La Natividad trailing at halftime. The teams were level at 16-16 in the eighth chukka until La Natividad's Polito Pieres scored the winning goal.

Play continues today, with La Dolfina and Pilara playing for the first place in the Hurlingham Open final. La Natividad will play Ellerstina on Tuesday (6 November).
