Ellerstina to face La Dolfina in Hurlingham final

Tortugas champions Ellerstina thrash La Natividad on route to a place in the Hurlingham final

ELLERSTINA AND LA DOLFINA will go head-to-head in the final of the Hurlingham Open on Saturday (10 November).

The Ellerstina lineup of Facundo Pieres, Gonzalito Pieres, Nico Pieres and Mariano Aguerre stormed to a 23-13 victory against La Natividad in the last league match yesterday.

Ellerstina, La Natividad and La Aguada all had a chance to reach the final as the last rounds of the tournament got underway. Ellerstina had to win by eight goals, a lead they achieved by the end of the sixth chukka.

The 38-goal Ellerstina team will meet the 40-goal La Dolfina side of Adolfo Cambiaso, David “Pelon” Stirling, Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martin Nero to decide who will take the second title in the Argentine Triple Crown. Cambiaso and co will have revenge in mind after their defeat to Ellerstina in the Tortugas Open.

This will be the third consecutive year the two teams have faced one another in the Hurlingham final, with the 2011 victory going to La Dolfina.
