Tue 20th Nov 2012Ollie Plunket to motorbike across America Piers Plunket's son is embarking on a solo trip across two continents to raise money for charity
NEXT MONTH THE son of Piers Plunket of Lycetts Insurance, a familiar face in the polo world, will set off on a 24,000 mile journey across America.
Ollie Plunket, an 18-year-old gap-year student, will travel by motorbike from Ushuaia, the southernmost city of Argentina, to Prudhoe Bay in northern Alaska, to raise money for Fisher House UK. He aims to begin the solo trip, which will take approximately seven months, on Christmas Day.
Fisher House provide refuge and accommodation for families of injured service personnel at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Ollie will attend Exeter University in 2013 on an Army Scholarship.
