On Wednesday 26 November, La Aguada Don Ercole claimed an 11–7 win over Velay to secure the coveted Cámara de Diputados Cup, following the Final held at the Argentine Polo Association Headquarters, Alfredo Lalor, in Pilar.
La Aguada Don Ercole struck early, putting two goals on the board before Velay could settle into the game. After that opening burst, the contest tightened considerably, and by half-time La Aguada were clinging to a slim 5-4 lead. The momentum shifted again in the fifth chukka, when a strong surge – driven by the prolific scoring of Pedro ‘Pedrinho’ Zacharias and Felipe Vercellino, who together scored nine goals – allowed the Open Door outfit to open up a 9-6 cushion ahead of the final stages. Velay pressed hard to turn the match around, but La Aguada held firm. In the last chukka, Zacharias and Facundo Llosa added the final touches, securing victory and sealing one of the season’s most fiercely contested titles in Argentina.
With the victory, La Aguada not only lifted the beautiful trophy but also earned a place in the playoff against the eighth placed team within the standings of the current Triple Crown. The winner of the playoff will qualify to the main draw of next year’s Triple Crown. For Brazilian Zacharias, it marked his second Cámara de Diputados title, having previously won with Brava in 2020, while his three teammates celebrated their first triumph.
Zacharias received the Most Valuable Player Award; Don Ercole Comadreja, played by Kristos Magrini and Don Ercole Casalta, also played by Magrini was the AACCP BPP.
