U.S. Open Draw Announced

The teams for the final tournament of the USA Triple Crown

The main draw of the 2018 U.S. Open Polo Championship took place on Thursday 29 March at the International Polo Club in Wellington, Florida. A total of six 26 goal teams will take part in the event, each battling for the final title in the USA Triple Crown series. Among the teams are defending champions Valiente (who have already secured both the C.V. Whitney Cup and the USPA Gold Cup titles) and last year’s Semi Finalists, Flexjet. For the first time in two years, Argentine 10 goaler, Juan Martín Nero will return to the Florida fields, stepping out for the US Polo Assn team. As well as hosting some of the world’s greatest players, this year’s U.S. Open will also be special as it will be the last time the competition will be made up of 26 goal teams, following the 2017 announcement from the USPA that as of 2019, the highest-level tournaments at IPC will be 22 goal. Play begins on Wednesday 4 April with the Final taking place on Sunday 22 April. The teams are as follows:

The U.S. Open Teams:
Audi (26): Marc Ganzi (2), Mike Azzaro (6), Polito Pieres (10) & Nic Roldan (8)

The Daily Racing Form-DRF Bets (26): Jared Zenni (5), Agustin Obregon (5), Hilario Ulloa (10) & Mariano Obregon (6)
