What’s on this weekend?

The UK summer polo season is well underway

Teams in the Cartier Queens Cup are now a third of the way through and The Bentley Royal Windsor Cup at Guards Polo Club also began today. The UK summer season isn’t all about high goal, there are plenty of low goal options to play or even spectate at. Across the country this weekend there will be a range of tournaments and games for anyone to get involved in. If you are looking for a 6 goal tournament then you could play at Binfield Heath, Cambridge County or Rugby this weekend. If you prefer 4 goal then you could head to Druids Lodge, Epsom, Hurtwood, Kirtlington, Lacey Green or The Royal County of Berkshire. If you prefer to play -4 polo then you could head to Cheshire, New Forest, FHM or Vaux Park.

If however you prefer to take a break from galloping around playing and want to watch then there are a few options. On Saturday 30 May Longdole Polo Club will be hosting The Cheltonian Association and Society Polo Invitation Day at The Prince of Wales Ground. The schedule of the day includes Cheltenham College Preparatory School against Summer Fields at 1.30pm, Cheltenham College against Stowe at 2.30pm and closing the day Old Cheltonians against Old Etonians. Round the corner at Beaufort Polo Club more Junior polo will be played at The Prep Schools and Colts Tournament on Sunday. Guards Polo Club will continue to have games in both The Bentley Royal Windsor Cup and The Cartier Queen’s Cup. In the first game of The Bentley Royal Windsor Cup today, Kildare succumbed to Mad Dogs who won 7-6. If you are looking for a fun-filled family day out with a charitable twist then head to Tidworth Polo Club. The Wiltshire Club is playing host to The Best of British day with The Duke of York's Cup, a match between the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force, The Heroes' Cup and The Best of British Under 25s. The Heroes’ Cup, now in its second year, will be played for by injured service men and women with supporting players from the Army team. The Best of British Under 25s will round off the day with two teams selected by Alan Kent. The teams will be made up of Freddie Horne, George Meyrick, Max Routledge, Jack Richardson, Alexander Mains, Eden Ormerod, John Kent and Charles Scott. Click here to find out more about the day.
