Mon 27th Apr 2015Argentina win Copa de Las Naciones Double loss as England Colts lose out to Argentina On Saturday 25 April Argentina defeated defending champions, England 13-10 on the main ground at Palermo, Buenos Aires. The home nation won the sixth international series of The Copa de Las Naciones, which featured three selected 25 and 26 goals teams; England, Argentina and The Rest of the World. Argentina has now won the tournament five times, only losing the annual event to England in 2014. Argentina dominated from the outset with goals coming from Alejandro Muzzio and Felipe Martínez Ferrario in the first chukkas. Max Charlton almost brought the scores to a tie in the first half, but Francisco Narvaez and Matthew Benoit blocked all paths to the goal. By the end of the fourth chukka Argentina had steamed ahead 10-5. England made a come back in the fifth which closed with a score of 12-7 and despite a further three goals in the sixth, were unable to beat the local side. Argentina also won the Colts tournament after winning against England and The Rest of the World team in a mini Copa de Las Naciones. Argentina defeated The Rest of the World 3-1 and England 9-5 to take pole position. The young English side also lost their game against Rest of the World squad to take third place.
