Bin Drai Polo (Saeed Bin Drai, Agustin Canale, Manolo Fernandez-Llorente andn Raul Laplacette) claimed a decisive 8-3 victory over their opposition UAE (HH Sheikha Maitha, Lucas Monteverde, Santi Stirling and Ignacio Acuna). After an impressive first chukka, the scoreboard showed an incredible 4-love scoreline to Bin Drai Polo, a deficit, which UAE could not recover from. Saeed’s team continued their lead throughout the game, with the score reading 5-2 at half-time, before they secured their place in Friday’s Final by winning the match 8-3. Bin Drai’s Raul Laplacette was the top scorer of the match, converting five of his team’s goals. Earlier in the afternoon, Mahra (Rashid Al Habtoor, Guy Gibrat, Joaquin Pittaluga and Nacho Gonzalez) declared a narrow victory over Desert Palm II (Tariq Albwardy, Tom Brodie, Diego Cavanagh and Matias Zavaleta) to go through to The Bentley Cup Subsidiary Final. At half-time the scores were tied at 5-all with everything left to play for in the fourth and fifth chukkas. The game continued to be close in the second half, but Mahra edged ahead of Desert Palm II to win 9-8. Final places will be decided tomorrow, Tuesday 10 March, with Zedan (Amr Zedan, Martin Gandara, Facundo Fernandez-Llorente and Pablo MacDonough) versus Julius Baer by Habtoor (Mohammed Al Habtoor, Santiago Cernadas, Martin Iturraspe and Guillermo Cuitino). Abu Dhabi (Faris Al Yabhouni, Alfredo Capella, Juan Gris Zavaleta and Felipe Ferrario) will take on Ghantoot (Nasser al Shamsi, Felipe Llorente, Hugo Barabucci and Ale Muzzio) to see who will face Mahra in The Bentley Cup.
