Pony Club Championships begin today at Cowdray Park
Berkeley takes Jorrocks honours at Hurtwood Park
THE AUDI PONY Club Polo Championships got underway today at Cowdray Park Polo Club. Players aged 10 to 21 will do battle over the next two days in a bid to reach Sunday's finals.
For the first time, the prestigious Gannon final will take place on the Friday evening, rather than the Sunday. The final will be played tonight at 6.30pm on Lawns 2. The finals for the seven other sections will be played on Sunday.
The Pony Club Jorrocks championships were held at Hurtwood Park Polo Club on Wednesday. The Berkeley Hunt team came out on top in division one, defeating South Berkshire in a tense rundown after the final match ended as a draw.
Beaufort took division two honours, while the Crawley and Horsham were the winners of division three.
A full report from the championships will feature in the September issue of Polo Times. If you need to buy or renew your subscription please click here.
