England defeat Australia in Sydney
James Beim leads England to a convincing win at Windsor Polo Club
ENGLAND DEFEATED AUSTRALIA in yesterday's international Test Match at Windsor Polo Club, near Sydney.
The England team, captained by seven-goaler James Beim, and also featuring Tom Morley (6), Ed Hitchman (5) and James Harper (6), dominated the Test Match, finishing with a 13-8 victory.
Australia – Jack Archibald (5), Rob Archibald (7), Matt Grimes (5) and Jock Mackay (5) – took a narrow early lead, going into the second chukka 3-2 up. But England took control of the game and despite a late comeback in the final chukka from Australia, they finished the winners. James Harper was named most valuable player.
But Australia was victorious in the international clash with the England Under 21 team. The Australian Colts – Richard Curran (1), Scott Tonkin (2), Jasper White (3) and Bingham Fitz-Henry (2) defeated the young England side of Issie Parsons (2), Freddie Dear (2), Charlie Scott (2) and Harold Hodges (2) 7-5.
