AN EXPERIENCED New Zealand home side got the better of South Africa at Saturday's Kihikihi International Day.
The 25-goal Kiwi team of John-Paul Clarkin, Tommy Wilson, Sam Hopkinson and Thomas Hunt achieved an 11-10 victory over a young 26-goal South Africa side of Nachi and Jean du Plessis, Tom de Bruin and Duncan Watson. The scores were level for much of the final chukka, until Hopkinson found the goal posts for New Zealand to secure the win.
This win continues New Zealand unbeaten run in International Test Matches at Kihikihi Polo Club, having defeated Australia in 2012, the 'World' team in 2011 and England in 2010.
