Mon 4th Feb 2013Lynt Polo Club to close down Landlord's plans will put a halt to Gloucestershire-based club
LYNT POLO CLUB, which has been run by Guy and Charlotte Verdon for the past three years, will not be operating this summer. Due to the landlord's plans for the farm, which is based near Lechlade, it will not be feasible for Lynt to continue as a polo club in the future.
The Verdons took over the club - formerly known as Inglesham Polo Club - from the Williams family in 2010. Since then, the club has grown year-on-year, both in the arena and outdoors.
Guy and Charlotte will be moving to Sussex in April to restart Knepp Castle Polo Club and set up a teaching academy. In the meantime, Lynt will continue to operate and teach as usual until the end of March. From 16-17 March the club will hold a Farewell Tournament and will also host the Easter HPA junior training camp as planned.
"We have both enjoyed creating the club and are very grateful to everyone for all their support over the last three - wettest and coldest - years," the Verdons said in a statement released by the club today. "We will miss our members and the Cotswolds."
