The Open de France Has Begun

Plenty of Brits Crossed the Channel to Play

The highlight of the French fixtures list kicked off last weekend at the historic Chantilly Polo Club on the outskirts of Paris. A plethora of polo playing Brits have crossed the channel for both the mixed tournament and the Open de Féminin. Polo Times will be on hand for the Finals as they unfold on Sunday 18 September between the top teams in both tournaments, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @polotimes for updates.

In the 2015 edition of the tournament Cowdray based ladies players Emma Boers and Lottie Lamacraft, on the Lowell team, defeated Tom Tailor Polo Team which featured fellow Brits Lucy Taylor and Charlene Goudkuil. This year, Barbadian lady player Camilla Williams has entered the tournament and the well known orange shirts will be worn by Emma Boers, Tamara Fox and Lucy Taylor for Huntington Apes Hill. Las Hermanitas, the Shroeder family team, has recruited one of the highest handicapped ladies Hazel Jackson and Silver Leys Polo Club player Charlene Goudkuil, whilst Maryland includes Hampshire Polo Schools’ front-woman Heloise Lorentzen with Hurtwood based Bryony Taylor. England's Luke Tomlinson, playing for the Ghantoot Racing Polo Club team, was beaten into fourth place after losing out to Sainte-Mesme I. This year the mixed tournament features five teams with Karan Thapar crossing the waters with Max Charlton, Jaime Huidobro and Ed Banner-Eve for EFG Aravali.
