Cartier Queens Cup Semi Final Results

La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal vs Park Place in Sundays Final

Yesterday, Wednesday 11 June, The Cartier Queen’s Cup Semi Finals were played at Guards Polo Club in front of packed grandstands enjoying the sun.
Park Place dominated the first Semi Final with a masterclass in teamwork which proved unbeatable. Hilario Ulloa, who has been incredibly strong throughout the tournament, was brilliantly supported by Rufino Bensadon and Rosendo Torreguitar, Torreguitar was later named the Cartier Most Valuable Player. Jeta Castagnola produced flashes of 10 goal brilliance and despite a widening gap by the fifth chukka, Antonio Heguy kept the pressure on Park Place. However, it wasn’t enough and Park place ran out the winners, 15-13. Ulloa received the Cartier Best Playing Pony prize for his own Why Not I’m Easy, while Borodin was presented with The Kerry Packer Trophy from Packer’s grandson, Jackson Lloyd Packer, and Laurent Feniou, Managing Director of Cartier UK.

The second Semi Final was played between Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha’s King Power and Luis Aznar’s La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal, who played with confidence beyond their years with an average age of just 21½-years-old. Captained by Poroto Cambiaso, who was later named Cartier’s Most Valuable Player, La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal took the lead in the third chukka and applied pressure throughout to take an 11-7 win, securing their place in Sunday’s Final. Laurent Feniou joined Nathalie Perrodo Samani, Hubert Perrodo’s daughter, to present the Hubert Perrodo Trophy to Aznar. Cambiaso’s Dolfina Misky received the Cartier Best Playing Pony rug.

The Cartier Queen’s Cup Final will be played on Sunday 15 June at 3.30pm between Park Place and La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal. All tickets for the Final are now sold out, but you can watch the action live via GuardsTV here
