Fri 3rd Feb 2012England win first game in FIP Snow Polo World Cup in China England beat South Africa in opening game
England defeated South Africa yesterday in their first game of the FIP Snow Polo World Cup at Goldin Metropolitan in Tianjin, China. Despite being 5-1 down at the end of the first chukka, England managed to fight back and win by a single goal, 7-6.
The team - Chris Hyde, Jamie Le Hardy and Max Charlton - will next play Hong Kong on Saturday. The latter also secured a win yesterday, beating India, 4-2. Yesterday's third game between Argentina and the USA resulted in a penalty shoot out - won by Argentina - after their game ended on level scores, 4-4.
Today's game between Australia and Italy also ended with a penalty shoot out, where Australia scored three penalties to Italy's two. France and Chile also secured victories today, defeating Brazil and New Zealand respectively.
