Tue 24th Mar 2026 The República Argentina Cup Underway Things are heating up in Argentina ahead of the Semi Finals The 2026 República Argentina Cup is currently underway at the AAP Headquarters in Pilar, with 16 teams up to 25 goals competing with the line-ups featuring some of the top names in polo such as: Facundo, Gonzalito and Nico Pieres, Juan Martín Nero, Juan Martín Zubía, David ‘Pelón’ Stirling and Alfredo Bigatti. The teams are split into four leagues and this is the only tournament in the world which allows 0 to 40 goal teams from across Argentina to compete. The tournament is played on handicap with ties permitted during the qualification stage; the Finals will be held at Palermo on Saturday 28 March.   The opening day saw wins for La Matera, Trenque Lauquen La Fe, La Ensenada Cría Emezeta, Coronel Suárez, La Dolfina Oriental, La Sarita La Solución, Sol de Mayo La Mariana and Cuatro Vientos Amanara.     The tournament resumed on Sunday 22 March at the Alfredo Lalor Headquarters in Pilar with eight more matches:   Zone 1: Trenque Lauquen La Fe beat Las Rosas 14-8 and La Matera beat El Remanso Bel Polo 13-11  Zone 2: Colonel Suárez beat La Arisca Conte Real Estate 21-18 and La Ensenada Cría Emezeta beat La Ensenada Segavas 20-18  Zone 3: La Dolfina Oriental beat Tucumán Polo Club 19-9 and La Sarita La Solución beat Chapaleufú 14-9  Zone 4: Sol de Mayo La Mariana beat La Estacada Sainte Mesme 20-12 and Cuatro Vientos Amanara beat Hípico Gualeguaychú Los Bayos 23-19  Eight more matches will be played on Thursday 26 March to decide the semi finalists.     Photograph: The 2026 República Argentina Cup is underway in Argentina.
