Wed 7th Jan 2026Palm Beach Season Underway Gauntlet of Polo Begins on 11 February
The 2026 season in Palm Beach is already underway, with the culmination of both The Butler Handicap and Heritage Cups. La Fe Eastern Hay defeated Dutta Corp 15-11 and claimed the Butler Handicap Cup on Sunday 28 December at the National Polo Center (NPC). Meanwhile ConcordEquityGroup.com (Dana Barnes, Lucas Escobar, Nico Escobar & Ned Hine) narrowly beat Tendonall Equine 11-10 in overtime to secure The Heritage Cup on Sunday 4 January at Port Mayaca Polo Club; Nico Escobar, who scored the winning goal, was chosen as Most Valuable Player, and Dublin, played by Escobar, was chosen as the Best Playing Pony. The 16 goal season continues with The Joe Barry Memorial Cup (6 – 25 January) and The Ylvisaker Cup (23 January – 22 February) and The U.S. Open Women’s Championship kicks off at the end of the month (25 January – 15 February). The Gauntlet of Polo series begins on 11 February with The C.V. Whitney Cup (Final on 1 March), followed by The USPA Gold Cup (2 – 29 March) and U.S. Open (1 – 26 April).
