Fri 25th Aug 2017What’s On Polo this weekend
As we role into the twilight weeks of the British summer, the European season is blessed with sunshine and high goal excellence, as some of the world’s best players take to the field in Sotogrande for the Final of the 46th International Polo Tournament. In France, both the Gold Cup Final at Deauville Polo Club and the finale of the Open du Soleil at the Polo Club du St Tropez will be taking place on Sunday 27 August. Elsewhere across the world, Manyatta Polo Club will be hosting the Timau Tournament, culminating in the Final on Sunday 27 August and the Lions River Tournament will be hosted in South Africa.
There will be a plethora of matches across the British Isles this weekend to round off a rather damp August and fingers crossed they will be blessed with sunshine. The Final of the Mid Summer 12 Goal at Cowdray will take place on Saturday 26 August, whilst Pangbourne will host the Polofix Challenge Cup. Both Kirtlington Park Polo Club and Dundee Polo Club will be welcoming ladies teams to take part in their annual women’s tournaments and the next generation of players will be taking to the fields at Cheshire Polo Club and Fifield Polo Club. And, if socialising is your thing, this Saturday, Beaufort Polo Club will host its annual Ball, an evening of glitter and glamour.
All in all, there is plenty to keep even the best polo aficionados busy this weekend. Please find more of this weekend’s dates below:
