Fri 28th Jul 2017What’s OnThe weekend’s fixtures
As the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup Final last weekend at Cowdray Park Polo Club signalled the end of the UK high goal season, it’s not all despair as there is still plenty of polo being played across the UK. Guards Polo Club will be hosting not one, but three internationally acclaimed matches on Saturday 29 July. Firstly the players of tomorrow begin the day with The British Junior Polo Championships Buckmaster Final at 11am on The Duke’s Ground, followed by the highlight of the day, The Royal Salute Coronation Cup. Flannels England will once again go up against the GT Bank Commonwealth in a battle of wills to lift the enormous golden Coronation Cup trophy. Following The Coronation Cup, the Swarovski England Ladies will take to the field against The Llangollen USA Ladies for The Thai Polo Club Ladies International for The Diamond Jubilee Trophy. Elsewhere across the country, Cirencester Park Polo Club will hosting its annual 18 goal Cirencester Ladies Tournament Final on Sunday 30 July, whilst Kirtlington will play host to the Final of The Oxfordshire Bowl. Fifield Polo Club will host the Finals of both the 4 goal and 8 goal Hornero Trophy and Binfield Heath invites spectators to come along to their Summer Festival. Epsom Polo Club will also be championing women’s polo this weekend, with their Ladies Tournament, as well as New Forest Polo Club hosting their Women’s Festival. Tidworth Polo Club will also be welcoming teams for the WIP European Mixed Doubles Championships Finals on Sunday 30 July. It certainly seems to be a weekend of women’s polo.
