MORE THAN 2,500 people turned out to watch Hattingley Valley Wines defeat Savills in this year's Best of British Under 25 match at Polo at Marriners on Sunday. The team was made up of Billy Jackson-Stops, Richard Le Poer, Eden Ormerod and Nick Pepper, who defeated Savills – Max Charlton, Lanto Sheridan, Harold Hodges and John Kent – 7-5 to give Hattingley Valley Wines victory for the second year running. Jackson-Stops was named most valuable player. Earlier in the day Bourne Valley Inn beat The Dundas Arms 3-2 in the Best of British Under 21 match. The winning team comprised John Sleeman, Max Hutchinson, Freddie Dear and Will Brasher. Izzy Parsons, who played for the Dundas Arms alongside Frankie Hutley, Will Berner and Charlie Scott, was named most valuable player. The event is held at Amelia Lady Northbrook's private ground at Marriners Farm in Hampshire and, now in its third year, raises money for various charities including Action on Addiction.
