After a two week delay due to poor weather, The 60th Jockey Club Open Final took place on Wednesday 2 October at the Jockey Club Open in San Isidro between Pilot and Scone. Both teams have on the title in the past, Pilot in 2019 and Scone in both 2022 and 2023.
Pilot’s Facundo Pieres opened the scoring, before the unstoppable Jeta Castagnola struck three consecutive goals, giving Pilot a commanding 4-0 lead at the end of the first chukka, which they extended to 6-0 in the second.
Scone fought back in the third chukka and gradually closed the gap, cutting the deficit to just two goals (7-9) in the fifth, with Benjamin Panelo – standing in for Poroto Cambiaso – leading the charge. But Pilot’s early dominance proved decisive, as they held firm to claim a 13-10 victory and secure their second title. It also marked Curtis Pilot’s second Jockey Club Open win, the third for Jeta Castagnola, and the fourth for both Facundo Pieres and Barto Castagnola.
Jeta Castagnola received the Most Valuable Player Award; Dolfina Melodía Simple was chosen as the Best Playing Pony (BPP); the BPP Elabpro was Yummy, ridden by Camilo Castagnola and Curtis Pilot received the Fair Play Award.
