The 2024 U.S. Open Women's Polo Championship began on Sunday 4 February, at Port Mayaca Polo Club, Florida, where the preliminary matches are taking place. The opening matches saw wins for Buena Vibra who beat BTA/ Lazy and Work to Ride/Grand Champions who beat Iconica. The action scheduled for Monday 5 February was postponed due to rain and continues today, Tuesday 6 February, with Mint Eco Car Wash vs La Fe and Parrotheads Polo vs 90210 Polo. Eight teams (90210 Polo, BTA/Lazy 3, Buena Vibra, Iconica, La Fe, Mint Eco Car Wash, Parrotheads Polo and Work to Ride/Grand Champions) are competing for a place in the Final which will be played on Sunday 18 February at the National Polo Center – Wellington. There is plenty at stake, as well as prizemoney of $25,000 for the winning team and the U.S. Polo Assn. will continue to encourage the spirit of philanthropy by providing $2,500 to both the winning team and the runner-up to donate to the polo charity of their choice. Defending champions Hope Arellano and Hazel Jackson reunite for La Fe in the U.S. Open Women's Polo Championship, seeking their respective third and fifth titles. Winifred Branscum partners with Maureen Brennan for Iconica, while Mia Cambiaso competes for her fourth title with 90210 Polo. Sarah Wiseman aims for her fifth championship with BTA/Lazy 3, and Kylie Sheehan looks to return to the podium for Mint Eco Car Wash. Former champion Lia Salvo vies for Parrotheads Polo's first victory. Sisters Sophie and Maddie Grant, previously teammates, play for Parrotheads Polo and Work to Ride/Grand Champions, respectively. Shariah Harris, from the Work to Ride programme, will be making her U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship debut playing for Work to Ride/Grand Champions.
