On Sunday the festivities of polo continue with The Gigaset Charity Polo Cup with Royal Salute playing Piaget followed by The Javier Novillo Astrada U15 Cup (in memory of Javier Novillo Astrada, who tragically lost his fight against a brain tumour in 2014 at just 37-years-old). Both the Princes are tipped to be playing in the charity cup and the list of surnames in The Javier Novillo Astrada U15 Cup would normally be found in a high goal score-sheet. At the young age of 19, Javier, like many of the world’s top polo players made the journey over to England for the summer months, and the fields here at Beaufort Polo Club were where he spent his first UK season.
The Javier Novillo Astrada U15 Cup, will see four teams competing for the top prize, and will feature some of the world’s greatest hopes of polo’s future. The four teams include RJ Polo (Lucas Monteverde, Tamara Gibbons, Henry Frizby and Cruz Heguy), Black Hound (George Deverell, Luke Wiles, Santiago Lllavallol and Millie Hine), Zonkey Polo (Simon Novillo Astrada, Manuel Novillo Astrada, Jaz Stanhope-White and Marcus Cork) and SATS (Ned Hine, Charlie Townsend, Mia Novillo Astrada and Freddie Jodrell).
