Thu 4th Jun 2015Great Western Railway brings back polo to Watergate Bay Cornwall beach tournament now in its ninth year
The final plans have been revealed for the three day polo festival on the 26 – 28th June, at Watergate Bay in Cornwall. The event has already confirmed that some of England's top players will be making an appearance at the event. Jamie Anderson, Campaigns Manager for Great Western Railway said, “Our players are all current or ex-England internationals. Many players who are booked to play this year have played in previous years, such as Tim Vaux, Richard and Andrew Blake Thomas, and Caspar West who is manager of Beaufort Polo Club."
The event is free to attend thanks to the generous support of sponsors Great Western Railway, Joules, Carrs Land Rover Truro, Good Energy, and Bath Gin. The festival includes three high-goal matches, Segway polo, equestrian stunt displays, Sunday dog show, as well as delicious food and drink and is expected to attract over 10,000 spectators to Watergate Bay, Cornwall. The GWR Polo on the Beach Party debuts on Saturday 27 June. Live bands, including beat box masters Duke, will perform from 7pm in the party arena. Hed Kandi’s international DJ Krystal Roxx, who has toured with rap star Taio Cruz, will take to the decks for the headline slot. For more information click here.
