Tue 2nd Jun 2015HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH Prince Harry support Audi Polo Challenge England’s former title sponsor continue to show their support for polo
HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH Prince Harry united in order to represent the Audi Ultra team in this weekend’s Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park in Berkshire. Audi’s annual two-day event, which this year entered its 13th year of inception, once again welcomed a collection of VIPs as well as some of England’s top polo players and notably New Zealand Captain John Paul Clarkin.
Saturday’s action saw Prince Harry team up with Nina Clarkin, Luke Tomlinson and Malcolm Borwick for the white-shirted Audi Ultra side. Following four chukkas of fast-paced polo, Audi Ultra successfully claimed an 8.5–6 victory over Audi Quattro’s Jack Mann, Tom Morley, Ollie Cudmore and Max Charlton.
However, it was Sunday’s match that arguably turned out to be the centrepiece of the weekend, as the Audi Ultra side featured both Prince Harry and The Duke of Cambridge – not something that happens every day in the world of polo. The two brothers showed impressive teamwork, working together as well as with their long-term friend and teammate, Mark Tomlinson and John Paul Clarkin. After four chukkas of competitive polo, it was once again Audi Ultra who succeeded in securing the title, this time a by a close 4 goals to 3.
Since their first involvement in the sport over a decade ago, Audi have continued to put on some of the best events we have ever seen in English polo, and this weekend was no different. Following the polo action, guests were invited to join them for a spectacular three-course dinner and entertainment in the form of Brit Award winner John Newman.
