Sun 13th Jun 201050th Queen's Cup Final at Guards Polo ClubDubai face Les Lions II in today's final of the Harcourt Developments Queen's Cup at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park. The match will start at 3.00pm. In Wednesday's semi-finals Les Lions II defeated Lechuza Caracas 11-9, while Dubai produced an ominous display that will have worried their opponents this weekend, brushing La Bamba de Areco aside, 14-10.
Les Lions II are the only side that now stands in the way of Dubai's first major title of the 2010 UK season, though they also took victory in the 22-goal Holyport Cup in May.
Max Gottschalk's Les Lions II have another score to settle as well, after they were knocked out of last year's Gold Cup at the semi-final stage by Dubai, who beat them convincingly 16-9. There is little doubt that Augustin and Sebastian Merlos will be after revenge, and will focus in particular on keeping top-scorer Adolfo Cambiaso quiet.
Dubai lost to La Bamba de Areco in last year's Gold Cup final, but with Pablo MacDonough alongside Cambiaso on the side this year, many believe it is hard to see beyond Dubai achieving a Queen's and Gold Cup double.
Cambiaso has hit fantastic form already this season, and scored 12 of Dubai's 14 goals in their victory over La Bamba. They will definitely start as favourites.
Today's final will be preceded by the Harcourt Developments Cup (subsidiary final) at 11am which will be contested by Enigma and El Remanso.
