Wed 30th Apr 2025AAP Honours Triple Crown Winners Polo fields names after La Aguada, La Dolfina & Ellerstina
Monday 28 April was an historic day of polo in Argentina as the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) named three of their fields against Argentine Triple Crown winners, La Aguada, La Dolfina and Ellerstina. Only five clubs – Coronel Suarez (1972, 1874, 1975 and 1977), Santa Ana (1973), Ellerstina (1994 and 2010), La Aguada (2003) and La Dolfina (2013, 2014 and 2015) – have won The Tortugas Open, Hurlingham Open and Argentine Open in the same year. The AAP had already named Ground 1 after Coronel Suarez and Ground 2 after Santa Ana. La Aguada, La Dolfina and Ellerstina came together on Monday 28 April to play a round robin exhibition match featuring some of the top names in polo who have won the Triple Crown titles alongside members of the Cambiaso, Pieres and Novillo Astrada families. For La Dolfina, Adolfo Cambiaso played with his three children, Poroto, Mía and Myla; while for Ellerstina, the brothers Facundo and Gonzalito Pieres played together with Indalecio (Gonzalito's son) and Félix (Nico's son); while for La Aguada, Ignacio and Miguel Novillo Astrada participated together with Simón (Javier's son), Silvestre (Nacho's son) and Miguel.
