USPA Gold Cup Semi Finals Set

Pilot, La Dolfina Scone, La Dolfina Tamera and The Dutta Corp will go for Gold

The Dutta Corp and La Dolfina Tamera join Pilot and La Dolfina Scone in the Semi Finals set to be played Wednesday 25 March with Pilot vs The Dutta Corp up first followed by La Dolfina Scone vs La Dolfina Tamera. These teams will play for their spot in the Final of the second tournament in The Gauntlet of Polo series which will be played on Sunday 29 March before the teams embark on the final leg, The U.S Open Polo Championship.

Pilot and La Dolfina Scone earned their places in the Semi Finals early, having run through the qualifiers unbeaten and boasting 4-0 win records after the final round matches were played last Wednesday 18 March. Meanwhile The Dutta Corp and La Dolfina Tamera had to fight for their places in some tough ‘mini’ Quarter Finals played on Sunday 22 March at The National Polo Center in Wellington, Florida.

First up, La Dolfina Tamera showed their pony power and superior team play against BTA. Although the match started evenly, La Dolfina Tamera soon began to pull away, pressuring the BTA side and neutralising any attempted attacks to keep the score relatively low and in their favour.

Next up, Facundo Llosa sent C.V. Whitney Cup winners The Dutta Corp into the Semi Finals with a golden goal in an extra chukka against Park Place after a tough match saw the two teams battling it out for an advantage. This match also saw them win The Tommy Hitchcock Memorial Trophy which forms part of The USPA Gold Cup qualifiers.
