Thu 24th May 2012Young Brits due to take part in this weekend's Polo at Marriners event in Hampshire Marriners Farm expected to attract more than 1,000 spectators this weekend
FOLLOWING LAST YEAR'S successful inaugural event, Polo at Marriners will once again be going ahead at Lady Amelia Northbrook's private ground in Hampshire this Sunday (27 May). Two matches, featuring a number of young British players, will take place and, with the weather expected to be scorching hot, hundreds of spectators are anticipated.
The first of the two matches will be the Northbrook Invitational, between Admiral Codington and Woolpack, at 3pm. Past and present Pony Club players make up the two sides. At 5pm, the Best of British U25s match will take place. Hattingley Valley will feature Max Charlton, John Kent, Jack Richardson and Lanto Sheridan, while their opponents will be Billy Jackson-Stops, Richard Le Poer, George Meyrick and Nick Pepper - representing Savills.
Aside from the polo, there will be trade stands, a parade of the Hampshire Hunt hounds, and a display of pre-1940s Rolls Royces by 20-Ghost Club.
Gates open at 1pm and tickets cost £15 per car or £5 for those on foot.
