After 31 matches, The Barnes Open de France concluded on Sunday 22 September with a 12-10 win for La Fija Sandbox against Mungo at Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly. The young Mungo team, who are based at Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly have been going from strength to strength and after a dominant start from La Fija Sandbox, they fought back in the fourth chukka to take a lead of 10 goals to 8. At this point La Fija Sandbox’s Fran Elizalde suffered an injury and was replaced by Alfredo Capella, however this last-minute team change did not dampen their efforts and they outscored Mungo 4 goals to 0 in the last chukka to take the win and secure the title, 12-10.
