Mon 23rd Aug 2021Park Place Win Talacrest 22 GoalBorodin’s team secures inaugural 22 goal
Yesterday, Sunday 22 August, saw Park Place make history at Guards Polo Club, securing the inaugural 22 goal Talacrest Prince of Wales's Championship Cup. Park Place went into the Final not only with an undefeated record but also with an earlier win against fellow finalists, Monterosso, earlier in the tournament. Alessandro Bazzoni's Monterosso certainly made Park Place work hard for their 5-4, keeping themselves into contention throughout, with little between the two teams. John Collins, the founder of Talacrest and sponsor of this new high-goal tournament, produced some amazing prizes for all players – and match officials – on Finals Day, including Cartier watches for the winners. Juan Britos was named Talacrest Most Valuable Player while Machitos Puccini, owned by Monterosso and played by Facundo Sola, was named the Talacrest Best Playing Pony. The Subsidiary Final saw Bardon convert a penalty in extra time to take a 10-9 win against UAE Polo Team. A full report will follow in Polo Times, click here to renew our subscription.
