Sotogrande Volvo Bronze Cup Final Results

Wins for Dos Lunas Hacienda & Santa Quiteria

Over Friday 30 – Saturday 31 July, the first Finals of the 50th International Polo Tournament at Santa María Polo Club took place.
Friday 30 July saw Santa Quiteria vs Cibao La Pampa in the medium goal Bronze Cup Final, which got off to an even start with both teams tied at the end of the second chukka, but Santa Quiteria began to pull ahead in the third chukka which ended 4-1 in their favour, with three unanswered goals from Ignacio Negri. Despite Cibao La Pampa’s best efforts, Santa Quiteria took the win and were crowned the undefeated champions of the 2021 medium goal Volvo Bronze Cup.
The following day, Saturday 31 July, was the high goal Volvo Bronze Cup Final between Dos Lunas Hacienda and Marqués de Riscal. With both teams evenly matched on 19 goals apiece, it was little surprise that there was little between them throughout the first five chukkas, with the scores tied repeatedly; however, the sixth and final chukka saw Dos Lunas Hacienda pull away to secure a 12-10 win.
