Tue 1st Jun 2021Thai Polo Thrill in Prince of Wales FinalLouis Hine scores golden goal
On Saturday 29 May, Monterosso and Thai Polo went head to head in The Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club. As the first 22 goal Final allowed to be attended by spectators since 2019, it was set to be an exciting day of action for everyone. Thai Polo, featuring the young fraternal duo of Louis and Ned Hine, began with a one goal handicap advantage and both teams fought hard to gain and maintain possession, with the goals frequently tied throughout. The battle spilled over into overtime with the scoreboard reading 12 goals apiece and despite the might of Monterosso, the young 15-year-old Louis Hine pounced on a pass from team mate Alejandro Muzzio, and with an neck shot worthy of a 10 goaler, scored the golden goal, much to the delight of the Thai Polo supporters. Thai Polo’s Rufino Bensadon was named Most Valuable Player and Irenita Dama (Open Trueno x Irenita Princesa), played by Louis Hine, was chosen as Best Playing Pony.
