Tue 23rd Mar 2021USPA Gold Cup Semi Finals SetTonkawa vs La Indiana & Park Place vs Scone
The final league matches of The USPA Gold Cup took place at International Polo Club Palm Beach on Sunday 21 March, with wins for Coca Cola and Scone. The opening match was hotly anticipated as it saw father-son Cambiaso duo versus the Pieres brothers, with Facundo only just back in action following a muscle injury. Scone took control from the first chukka, with the Pieres brothers unable to push ahead for Pilot; the match ended with a 13-6 victory for Scone with Poroto Cambiaso the top scorer of the match with a total of six goals. The second match of the day saw Coca Cola defeat La Indiana, despite suffering from a substitution in the third chukka, with Fran Elizalde replacing an injured Diego Cavanagh. Coca Cola controlled the game from the outset, with solid attack and defence and with three unanswered goals in the third chukka they sealed the deal, with the match ending 14-10 in favour of Coca Cola. These results mean that Coca Cola, Scone and La Indiana took part in a penalty shootout yesterday, Monday 22 March, to determine the last two Semi Final teams. Scone and La Indiana were the victors of yesterday’s penalty shootout and will join Tonkawa and Park Place (who secured their places in the Semi Finals last Saturday) in the Semi Finals on Wednesday 24 March. The Final will be played this weekend, Sunday 28 March, with the action livestreamed here.
