Ellerstina Retain Tortugas Title

Impressive defeat of La Dolfina Saudi

Yesterday, Tuesday 10 November, two of the great Argentine organisations took to the Alfredo Lalor Grounds of the Argentine Association of Polo, in Pilar for The Tortugas Open Final.
La Dolfina Saudi went into the Final with not as strong a line-up as expected due to a myriad of injuries resulting in an unusual line-up of Adolfo Cambiaso, Poroto Cambiaso, Iñaki Laprida and Rodrigo Ribiero de Andrade taking to the field, which means that Adolfo Cambiaso was the only remaining member of the original La Dolfina Saudi line-up.
Meanwhile, Ellerstina were confident and strong, dominating from the outset and by half-time led 10-4, with Facundo Pieres responsible for seven of his team’s goals. After half-time, Ellerstina continued their offensive and maintained their advantage, with impressive attack and defence. By the last chukka, Ellerstina led 16-5, a last-minute penalty conversion from Laprida saw another goal notched up for La Dolfina Saudi, but it still left a huge gap in the scores with a final score of 16-6. The Best Playing Pony Argentino was Mega Chistosa (Sportivo x Ellerstina Simpatía), played by Facundo Pieres.
The Subsidiary Final for The Sarmiento Cup saw La Ensenada La Aguada beat La Natividad Monjitas 15½-12.
