In front of HM The Queen, UAE Polo, with the youngest player in the tournament, 13-year-old Lucas Monteverde Jnr, at the helm, took home The OUT-SOURCING Inc! Royal Windsor Cup on Sunday 23 June. The sun shone on the exciting match, which saw UAE Polo secure a 10-7 victory over Alan Fall’s Mad Dogs. 21 teams had entered the coveted tournament, so the competition to the Final was rife. HM The Queen, Haruhiko Doi and David Matsumoto presented the teams with their prizes, as well as the Most Valuable Player award to Lucas Monteverde. HH Sheika Maitha, who has been injured for the majority of the season, was also in attendance, to receive the trophy from HM The Queen. Skiff owned and played by James Harper was named the Best Playing Pony. The day concluded with a carriage display from The British Driving Society as well as an additional match to celebrate polo's 150th anniversary. A visiting PoloAfrica team took on Spillers Polo150 team, playing for The Churchill Cup. The visiting team ultimately lost out 4-3, but there were smiles all round when former World Boxing Champion Chris Eubank presented the prize, including the Most Valuable Player award to 2Lt Oliver Powell.
