The 54th Jockey Club Open Commences

La Dolfina Valiente, La Dolfina Brava I, Las Monjitas and Pilará Etiqueta Negra lead the table

Following games postponed on Tuesday 11 September, play continued in the 54th Jockey Club Open on Wednesday with two Quarter Final matches in Pilar. La Dolfina Valiente were the first team to take charge on Wednesday with a 9-7 win against La Ensenada. The 31 goal team led from the outset, notching up a 5-2 lead before the half-time break. Despite scoring three strong goals in the final chukka, following great play in the fourth and fifth periods, La Ensenada couldn’t catch their higher handicapped rivals.

In the second match of the day, Pilará Etiqueta Negra took home a 12-7 win against La Cañada Anigocor-Daily Racing Form. La Cañada took the lead in the first chukka, 3-2, but Pilará came back to even the scoreboard 3-3 in the second chukka and from there they held the lead.
La Dolfina Brava I continued the La Dolfina dominance with a 17-5 win against high goal regulars Chapaleufú yesterday, whilst Las Monjitas defied the remaining La Dolfina team (La Dolfina Brava II) with a 12-3 win.
Play continues this weekend, with the Semi Finals taking place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September, and the Final is scheduled for Saturday 22 September at 3pm.
