The Prince of Wales Trophy, the jewel in the Berkshire’s crown, takes place this Saturday 20 May. Held under the patronage of HRH Prince of Wales, the tournament was first played in 1986 and continues to be one of the four major tournaments in the English polo season. Attracting the world’s best teams and players, this tournament has a unique history and goes from strength to strength. 2016 saw a battle of horsepower between ultimate winners Valiente Dubai and Apes Hill. The young 1 goaler Henry Porter had an exceptional game from scoring in the first chukka to sealing the deal in the final chukka for Valiente Dubai, scoring to finish the game 10-9. 2017 promises to be just as exciting with the world’s top polo players gracing the field, including world number one Adolfo Cambiaso.
