Arena Gold Cup Update

Double Loss for K-Law Imperial

The Arena Gold Cup is in full swing at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club ahead of the Finals scheduled for Saturday 25 February. Post-Final, the Club is hosting a Casino Evening and After Party, click here fore more details. The qualifiers for the Final began last week on Friday 17 February, with a 21-15 win for SUPA Polo over K-Law Imperial. SUPA Polo had honed their teamwork in an exhibition match against The Knights of Middle England at the SUPA University Winter Nationals at Rugby Polo Club on the weekend of 9 – 12 February. However, Friday’s victory came as a surprise for some as the lowest handicapped team of the tournament managed to defeat ‘The Prof’ Chris Hyde, who holds a mighty 10 goal arena handicap and was fresh from Cartier’s victory in the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz at the end of January.

The following day, Saturday 19 February, saw two matches, with Emlor defeating Sifani at 12pm with a close score of 22-23, whilst next-up K-Law Imperial continued their losing streak, suffering a 23-16 defeat at the hands of Regal Warriors.

The action continues tomorrow, Tuesday 21 February, with the last matches of the league stages as the teams fight for their places in the Semi Finals, the fixtures are as follows:

SUPA Polo vs Regal Warriors at 11am

Sifani vs Four Quarters at 12.20pm

Picazo Polo Stud vs Emlor at 2pm
