The action across the pond at the International Polo Club Palm Beach continues as 14 teams go head to head be crowned champions of the 2017 Ylvisaker Cup. On Sunday 5 January, 9-8 seemed to be the flavour of the day as Orchard Hill narrowly defeated Valiente II, 9-8 and Mt. Brilliant defeated Goose Greek with the same score. Valiente I also tasted sweet success with a 10-9 win over Grand Champions/Casablanca, securing their place in the Quarter Finals alongside Orchard Hill. Next-up, Monday 7 February, the undefeated Postage Stamp Farm put their mark on Travieso, dashing Travieso’s hopes of reaching the Quarter Finals with a last-minute goal securing the win with a tight score of 12-11. Meanwhile, Tonkawa and La Indiana faced each other in a critical match, with the result determining which team would automatically qualify for the Quarter Finals. With the stakes set high, both teams desperate to secure the win, evident in the flurry of yellow cards issued to Sapo Caset, Jeff Hall and Gringo Colombres. However, nothing could stop Sapo Caset, who in the dying embers of the game, dashed to goal to secure the win with another nail-bitingly close score of 8-7.
