Mon 21st Nov 2016 Argentine Open Update La Dolfina and Alegria dominate The Open action continued on Saturday 19 November, with Alegría Assist Card facing Cría Yatay Colony and Washington Fly Emirates attempting to de-thrown the mighty La Dolfina Sancor Seguros. In the first match of the day, although Cría Yatay began the match on solid form, with strong defence tactics which took Alegría by surprise and resulted in a closely battled match. However, the goal scoring prowess of Guillermo Caset, who scored the first five goals for Alegría, proved too much to tackle and Cría Yatay lost out to a final score of 9-7. The second match of the day saw La Dolfina defeat Washington with a whitewash score of 18-8.  Meanwhile, the following day, Sunday 20 November saw La Aguada Las Monjitas and La Irenita begin the action for the day. The Novillo Astradas began the match with a strong start, however by the fifth chukka La Irenita had clawed back the goals to level the scores. Yet, the family team of Novillo Astradas weren’t happy to go down without a fight, and finished the match 14-10. The finals match of both the day and the weekend, resulted in another indomitable display of polo from the Ellerstina Johor boys, in their 13-8 defeat of El Paraíso.  The action is set to continue tomorrow, Tuesday 22 November, with Washington versus Cría Yatay and La Dolfina will do battle with Alegría.   Photograph: Argentine action hots up.
