The FIP XI European Championships have come to a close following an exciting array of qualifying matches played between seven teams. Day 6 of the Championship at Preussiche Polo and Country Club Berlin saw Ireland defeat the young German home team following a close match. Meanwhile, France defeated Poland with a last second goal which secured them with a place in the Final against Ireland. The action then moved on to Maifeld Olympic Stadium in Berlin for the Finals on Sunday 4 September, which was a chance for teams from across the globe to compete in such an historic setting. The culmination of the FIP XI European Championships saw the Irish team, featuring Creighton Boyd (0), Stephen Hutchinson (1), Max Hutchinson (3) & Mikey Henderson (4), defeat France 7-4, with Max Hutchinson’s pony receiving the Best Playing Pony Award.
