Mon 18th Jan 2016HPA New Year Nationals UpdateSemi Finalists Decided For 3 Goal
The initial league game matches for the 3 goal HPA New Year Nationals have now been completed. Only two games remain to determine the teams that will play in this Sunday's Final and Subsidiary Final. Both RCBPC Los Caballeros and RCBPC Gaucho have lost all of the games to date and will therefore play in the Subsidiary Semi Final on Friday 22 January. In the first Semi Final on Friday, HPC Print On Demand will play Moor Hall Farm. Print On Demand, with the all family line-up of Andy, Josh and Marcus Cork, have had a less than ideal ride through the initial rounds defeating RCBPC Los Caballeros 19-11, but losing to FPC Tchogan 16-15 in their second game. Moor Hall Farm, their opponents for the next game, faired better with wins against RCBPC Gaucho, with a score 17-8 in their first game of the tournament, followed by another win on Sunday 17 January against RCBPC, this time by the skin of their teeth, 21-20. In the second Semi Final scheduled for the end of this week, FPC Tchogan will face RCBPC. Roy Prisk and the Voelker Duo have been consistent with their wins against RCBPC Los Caballeros and HPC Print On Demand, but face tough opposition with Coolhooves’ Phil Meadows, his daughter Genevieve and the very capable youngster Eric Appen. The winners of these two games will decide places for the Final and Subsidiary Final on Saturday 23 January. In the 8-12 HPA New Year Nationals, Chris Hyde and his team of James Mann and Hilali Noordeen, have suffered their first defeat of the tournament, losing to RCBPC Gaucho line-up of Phil Meadows, Faisal Al-Rifai and Adolfo Casabal, with a score of 25-23. The next game scheduled for this section of the tournament is between EPC Four Quarters and RCBPC Gaucho on Tuesday 19 January at 1pm. Games continue through the week with the Final and Subsidiary Final scheduled for Saturday 23. For a full list of teams and results to date click here for the 3 goal and here for the 12 goal.
