e3Light Team New York win The Scandinavian Beach Polo World Cup

Six different countries participated in the Danish Riviera

Denmark’s most beautiful beach, situated in the town of Hornbæk on the North Sealand coast played host to the first edition of The Scandinavian Beach Polo World Cup in front of 8,000 spectators from 23 – 25 July. Eight two-man teams entered the three day tournament, with handicaps from 0-6 goals. Players from countries ranging from Argentina to The Czech Republic took part. Team line-ups also included La Martina’s Brand Ambassador and British player George Pearson as well as Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club regular Roy Prisk.

Impressive plays by players such as Federico Boudou, Roy Prisk and Stevie McGraith really stirred up the crowd from day one. Ilse Jacobsen Team Hornbæk, e3Light Team New York, Hildon Team London and Land Rover Team Berlin went through to the Semi Finals on the second day. Ilse Jacobsen Team Hornbæk and e3Light Team New York triumphed to go through to the Finals on the third day.  Despite Final’s Day starting with drizzly rain, the spectators’ and players’ spirits were high and the action on the sand was hot. e3Light Team New York won with a final score of 10-2.

There was plenty of competition off the pitch with the Rossini Caviar race, which was open to all spectators and proved a great success.  Spectators were asked to participate in a race to win a 250g tub of caviar worth over £500. Hildon Water sponsored the Best Dressed Lady on Ladies Day Friday and a charity dinner for SOS Børnebyerne was held on the last evening raising funds for Remée Jackman’s favourite charity. The event included an illustrious list of sponsors, which included; Land Rover, Jaguar, Hildon Water, e3Light, La Martina, Ilse Jacobsen, Rossini Caviar, Copi Design, Veuve Clicquot, Havreholm Slot, Easyclean, White Rock, Garia, Zen, Shamballa Jewels and Ivan Eltoft.
