Yesterday's Gold Cup action saw Dubai beat King Power convincingly in their third match of the tournament, with a score of 17-9. The half-time score of 8-4 to Dubai was a precedent of the match to come, and tribute to the exceptionally strong play from Dubai. Dubai capitalised on their half-time lead and continued to score goal after goal. King Power fought valiantly, but were undone by the loss of Temi Willington (7) to a collarbone injury in the midst of the action. Dubai are so far unbeaten in the tournament and will face RH Polo in their next match. Earlier in the day, RH Polo faced HB Polo. A half-time score of 8-6 promised a close game. Ben Soleimani's RH Polo maintained their three goal advantage over the Pailloncy brothers and won the match 13-10. HB Polo are yet to have a win in The Gold Cup, having previously come up against strong opposition from both Dubai and UAE Polo in their first two matches. This is RH Polo's second match and first win of the tournament, following a 14-6 loss to UAE Polo in the very first match of the tournament. Today saw Zacara face VPS Healthcare Sifani at lunchtime, where Zacara won 10-7, followed by El Remanso against Salkeld, with El Remanso going home the winners 11-9. In Friday's line-up, Apes Hill Club will take on La Indiana, followed by King Power Foxes vs Talandracas, whose Ali Paterson has been reinstated following Monday's controversy.
