Wed 4th Mar 2015Piaget USPA Gold Cup kicks off tomorrow C.V. Whitney Cup winners Orchard Hill will be aiming for second win of their season
Following an extremely successful C.V. Whitney tournament, Steve Van Andel’s Orchard Hill side will undoubtedly be returning to 26 goal competition for International Polo Club’s second high goal tournament with high expectations. The line up of Facundo Pieres, Polito Pieres and Ezequiel M. Ferrario defeated Alegria’s Julian Mannis, Hilario Ulloa, Mariano Aguerre and Sterling Flannico, in the Final of The C.V. Whitney last weekend, 16 goals to 13. Orchard Hill face Coca-Cola (Gillian Johnston, Pelon Stirling, Julio Arellano and Sugar Erskine) in the opening game of the Piaget USPA Gold Cup tomorrow at 10am while Alegria will take on Audi (Marc Ganzi, Gonzalito Pieres, Rodrigo Andrade and Freddie Mannix) at the later time of 3pm.
Tomorrow’s action will also see Valiente (Bob Jornayvaz, Alejo Taranco, Guillermo Terrera and Adolfo Cambiaso), who slightly suffered as a result of an injured Adolfo Cambiaso in The C.V. Whitney Cup, come up against Lechuza Caracas (Victor Vargas, Nico Pieres, Juan Martin Nero and Agustin Garcia Grossi) at 12pm while Las Monjitas (Camilo Bautista, Facundo Sola, Sebastian Merlos and Eduardo Novillo Astrada) and Engel & Volkers (Matias Magrini, Santi Torres, Kris Kampsen and Jared Zenni) will also be battling it out at this time.
Action returns to the field on Sunday.
