The Banner-Eve brothers, playing with Jamie Morrison for Chopendoz Eclipse, missed out on a spot in The Gold Cup Final with a loss against Gaucho in yesterday’s Semi Finals at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club. The most coveted trophy in the winter fixtures list will finish tomorrow with a game between Jonathan Munro Ford’s unstoppable Black Eagles team and the black and white shirts of Faisal Al-Rifai Oscar, Mancini and Adolfo Casabal for Gaucho. Munro Ford’s line-up of Chris Hyde and Sergio Baselli won under the watchful eyes of Umpire, Simon ‘Skinny’ McDonald and Chairman of the Arena Handicap and Rules Committee, Marcus Hancock against Hilali Noordeen’s Sifani featuring Goffredo Cutinelli and Max Charlton. Black Eagles have been consistent, defeating Chopendoz Eclipse, Silex and Sifani by scoring an impressive 78 goals throughout the tournament. Gaucho haven’t been far behind with 63 goals to aid their wins against Black Hound, Sifani and Chopendoz Eclipse. The Royal County of Berkshire will open their gates for the event at 11.30am tomorrow with The Silver Cup between Black Hound (Simon Arber (1), Tarquin Southwell (7) and Pete Webb (7)) and Silex (Richard Fagan (1), Mikey Henderson (6) and Sebastian Dawnay (8)) scheduled for 12 noon.
